this week it was hot sketching.
even in the shade it was in the 90s.

satisfying, though,
playing with green...









between morning and afternoon session i
had delicious tacos and lemonade from the oaxaca/wahaca
(that's what they call it) food vendor near the marina
at the world financial center.












rebecca is one of my favorite models. she's
a dancer and her body is wonderfully long, thin
and flexible. i left a bit early as
the heat did, finally, get to me despite
the two liters of fluid i imbibed.

back to battery park

from now until october
i hope to spend lots of time
down at battery park city
sketching. i'd say weather permitting
but this week the weather was less than
ideal and in the morning i sat
sketching, umbrella in one hand,
brush in the other...







in the afternoon we were under the trees which
sheltered us somewhat although
our model did make creative use
of an umbrella

am i alone in finding this disturbing?

the u.s. army band was playing in bryant park for flag day and giving out nifty water bottles ...


only problem? made in china. really? REALLY?
